Summary of work

The role of a boxer is to pack the finished paper product into boxes and shipping containers.

It is similar to assembly line work in that the same operation is repeated continuously throughout the day.

The product will roll on the conveyor at the rate of 2 to 6 rolls every 20 to 35 seconds.

It is a fast paced environment.

 

Requirements :

1. Must be able to stand in one place for long periods of time.
2. Must be able to lift 50 pounds from floor to shoulders repeatedly.
3. Must be able to read and understand labels and work orders in English.
4. Must be able to work in an unconditioned building which can be quite cold in the winter and very hot in the summer.
5. Must be able to perform repetitive movements during the shift.
6. Housekeeping and organizational skills are required.
7. Hearing protection is required at the production site (Tampa only).
8. Must be able to use a hand pallet truck.

The position is Monday to Friday from 7:30 a.m. to 5:30 p.m. with a 30-minute lunch. The salary is 19.00/hour. Pay holidays and vacations, full medical benefits. Annual performance/merit reviews.

REQUIREMENTS:

•ABET certificate.
•One (1) to two (2) years of general work experience will be an added advantage.
•Knowledge of general work in handling equipment and devices.
•Working knowledge of various general jobs including lawn care process.

•Assist in the repair of all fences as well as the installation of new fences as required.
•Helps mix concrete as needed.

•Operate mower and mower as needed.
•Maintain and maintain machinery, equipment, tools and property.
•Help paint the team.
•Assist in the cleaning and repair of mechanical equipment (valves, generators, gearboxes, pipes, etc.)

APPRENTICESHIP PROGRAM 2022/23: BASIC TRAFFIC OFFICER DIPLOMA
Ref No: DCSSL/TM/LP/2022

 

The Department of Safety, Security and Community Liaison is inviting applications for an Apprentice Traffic Officer Diploma which aims to equip young unemployed people with traffic enforcement knowledge and skills. Preference will be given to individuals from previously disadvantaged communities who meet the following requirements:

•Grade 12 certificate
•At least a code B driver’s license
•South African citizen
•no criminal record
•Applicants must be 18 and no older than 35.
•Fair and appropriate.

Location all 9 province

NB:

The Department will conduct criminal background checks. Successful applicants will be required to enter into a 12 month contract with the Department and upon completion; students will receive a basic traffic officer qualification: NQF 4.

The DCSSL will verify all qualifications and the driver’s license of each candidate.
