The deadline is May 8, 2025. Essential Requirements a SAQA-recognized National Senior Certificate for 12th grade at NQF level 4.
You need a PSIRA Grade C Certificate. Basic security officer’s course.
Knowledge of the Constitution of the Republic of South Africa.
Knowledge of all relevant governance structures and legislative frameworks for the department and public sector. Understanding of the MISS (Minimum Information Security Standards). Knowledge of the Vehicle Act and Control of Access to Public Places.
familiarity with the National Intelligence Strategy Act. Knowledge of the Criminal Procedure Act of 1977 as amended.
Knowledge of the Protection of Personal Information Act (POPIA).
Understanding of investigative techniques and methodologies
Willingness to work shifts and extended hours.
Tasks and responsibilities The successful candidate will be accountable for the following specific responsibilities, among others:
Determine whether visitors have appointments / or require services.
Confirm the visitor’s appointment or direct them to the appropriate service delivery location.
Complete or ensure that the admission control register is completed and issue admission control documents / cards as required.
Escort visitors to relevant employee s/ venues if required.
Doors can be locked and unlocked. Identify suspicious conduct.
Ensure unauthorized persons and dangerous objects do not enter the building.
Follow-up on incidents.
Facilitate stakeholder engagement and collaboration.
Enhance security and service delivery by ensuring the successful implementation of operational objectives and innovations (digital transformation, solutions for records and document management, process enhancements, and information management and analysis). Implement governance processes, frameworks and procedures.
Protect human and physical resources in an efficient and effective manner.
Coach and guide staff on best practices and compliance with regulatory requirements.

Shortlisted candidates are required to submit a copy of their ID document, a valid driver’s license (if specified as a job requirement), relevant educational qualifications / RPL certificates / Academic Transcripts of completed qualifications, and details of current earnings (latest salary advice) as directed.
In addition, the South African Qualifications Authority (SAQA) requires applicants with foreign qualifications to submit the evaluated results of those qualifications.

In order to be considered for appointment into Senior Management (SMS) posts, applicants potentially considered suitable are required to complete the online “Pre-entry Certificate for entry into the Senior Management Services” course; obtainable at the National School of Government (NSG), under the name “Certificate for entry into the SMS”.
For SMS positions, being appointed will necessitate signing an employment contract, completing a predetermined probationary period, and obtaining a security clearance appropriate to the position. Only those candidates who have been shortlisted will be able to communicate with the Department.
