
Crime Prevention Warden Programme 2025 – Phase 2 Recruitment Now Open
The Gauteng Department of Community Safety is opening its doors again — this time inviting young people from the Coloured and Indian communities in Gauteng to apply for Phase 2 of the Crime Prevention Warden Programme, also known as the AmaPanyaza initiative.
If you’re energetic, disciplined, and passionate about keeping your community safe, this is your chance to be trained and work as a law enforcement officer close to home.
Successful applicants will receive both classroom and physical training over a period of 3 to 6 months. During this time, you’ll be paid a monthly stipend of R4,000. After completing your training, you may be placed under the Directorate of Traffic Management, where you’ll help tackle crime and promote safety in Gauteng communities.
Who Can Apply?
To be considered, you must:

Have a Matric/Grade 12 certificate

Be physically fit and mentally sharp
-
Have no criminal record or ongoing cases
-
Be willing to work weekends, shifts, and holidays
-
Live in Gauteng and come from a Coloured or Indian background
It Helps If You Also Have:

A driver’s license
-
Any previous training in law enforcement or security

Experience in volunteer work with government or community safety programmes

During Training, You’ll Learn to:

Help manage traffic and safety at public events

Be part of stop-and-search and patrol duties

Support police with arrest procedures

Respond to public complaints and concerns

Take part in community-based safety operations
